The entire final table will get points based on your finish position: 10th - 10 points, 9th - 15 points, 8th - 20 points, 7th - 25 points, 6th - 35 points, 5th - 45 points, 4th - 55 points, 3rd - 70 points, 2nd - 85 points and 1st - 100 points
The entry cost of the tournament will be multiplied by .50 and all final table participants will have that point amount added to their point total.
So if the tournament has a $100.00 buy-in, there would be 50 points added to each players total. (100 x .5 = 50)
The total buy-ins will also factor into the Player of the Year points. The more buy-ins the more points everyone will earn. Every player will have 1 additional point added to their point total for each buy-in for the tournament.
So if there are 40 buy-ins there will be 40 additional points added to each players point total.
In the Play Poker Chicago "Player of the Year" tournament the more points you earn the more starting chips you'll have.
POY tournament will take place in December of each year for the top 150 players on the points list.
